I have never tried the Doppleganger as a necromancer, but I believe if you take alot of life sacrificing skills and no healing, it will just kill itself.

Retribution, healing breeze, sacrifice skills that won't kill you or help him too much. Or just skip the sacrifice skills, any character with monk is just that easy.

think i used Spiteful Spirit and sacrafice skills but if you dont have ss then sacrafice works.

Awaken the blood is another good one to take if you've got it as it make sarafices 50% more deadly to him

I guess you could also use insidious parasite. I have a N/Me and I just used Emphaty and Insidious and stayed there looking at him while he killed himself attacking me. He went down in about 15 seconds.

Howdy,

I just beat my doppleganger last night as a N/Me...
I upped curses to top and lowered all other attributes to zero...
Took only two skills Insidious Parasite and Spiteful spirit (elite, but easily capped)...
zapped him with both right away, and stood there doing nothing as he killed himself well under the 50 second bonus time (like 25 seconds)...
Just make sure NOT to attack him, just sit and recast if necc...

Good Luck!!!

You only need two skills, leave the rest blank.

Awaken the Blood
Verata's Aura

Sit back and watch.

Thank God this thread is here. I got my Canthan-born N/Mo to Augury Rock last night to kill her doppleganger but I also found it rediculously hard...It either degenned me to death, stole my health or hacked me to death....now this is what I do not understand....

My NECRO/MONK doppleganger has an AXE which deals 35 damage.....?????
Sometimes it has a bow but usually an axe - I HAVE NO AXE - let alone the skill points in Axe mastery I assume I would need to deal so much damage. Why does it have this weapon...when I don't....why does it's skills seem to recharge faster than mine....why does it seem to have maximum attribute points in everything when I don't....? ok, /rant

Thanks to everyone who contributed to this page - I will try using sacrificial skills tonight....hope it works

Default How to beat your doppleganger

As a Necro there are several ways of doing this.

Fill bar with Sacrificing spells; don't cast them, just attack with wand

Have Price of Failure, Enfeeblement, Insidious Parasite (I know counter productive) on your skill bar, and don't attack. Just move from side to side. Don't bring any self-healing spells.

If you have a /Me:

Also have Spirit of Failure, either Physical Resistance or Distortion and Illusion of Weakness (cast this before you hit the 3 stones).

If you have a /Mo:

Max out healing prayers and curses, use PoF, E and Healing Breeze.

Hope this helps.

If you really want to have some fun, use these skills.

Cultist's Fervor (e)
Awaken the Blood
Dark Aura
Dark Pact
Dark Fury/Order of Pain

if he uses the skills in the right order, hell kill himself in two spells flat. I like doing this just for fun :P

Yay - finally beat my doppleganger last night....thanks for the help, I think it might have taken me a while to come up with the health sacrificing thing on my own. I didn't have too many skills, mind you and I could only afford one or two so I had to improvise...I used:

Awaken the Blood
Blood of the Master (just in case it was stupid and thought it had minions!)
Blood Ritual
Enfeebling Blood
Wail of Doom {E}
Reversal of Fortune
Shielding Hands
[Blank Space]

I would cast Reversal of Fortune and Shielding Hands on myself (and so would doppley) but then I just didn't attack, doppley used Awaken the Blood and then sacrificed himself so that I might live! I took Wail of Doom {E} so that he would have a chance to interrupt me and sacrifice a little more health...

There is one thing I still do not understand

Doppley started off with a bow....then moved onto an Axe.....HOW? WHY? I have no bow, I have no axe! Why is it allowed them AND manages to do max damage with the axe?

Doppleganger uses a bow when you're ranged and an axe when you're close. Both max, I believe.

Yup, max damage (I'm sure of it). Also, regardless of what weapons you have or what skills you have, it can use them. Example: I used my Hammer skills as a W/R and attacked, thinking an Axe cannot use hammer skills. Guess what, it used hammer skills with an axe. It had faster attack rating, because it used an axe, and did hammer skill damage. Another example: I used my A/Mo, and it comboed me with an axe. I beat it the first time with both characters.

Hmmm, seems as though doppley is cheating if you ask me! I think the doppleganger should be just that - exactly the same as you! Then he'd be proper boned! My only problem was with my Necro. I killed my Elementalist doppleganger first time in about 45 seconds - that was fun, but my necro had few proper damage dealing skills!

Still, thanks for explaining that bit with the bow/axe, much appreciated.

I went in with a meleemancer...

Flurry
Standing Slash
Galrath Slash
Vampiric Touch
Plague Touch
Vampiric Gaze
Res Sig
Watch Yourself

As you might have guessed, I didn't prepare at all for the fight.

First time, I rushed in and used my skills best I could; we died at the same time, I got the exp and failed the quest.

On second try, I kicked his butt with the same tactics and I got the bonus AND all the exp a second time.
